Sunset Art Gallery has been owned and operated by Linda Roach for the past 13 years. Her husband William does woodcarvings and paintings on site in the studio across from the gallery. 

They started out simply selling William's work but soon could not keep up with the demand of sales through the gallery and also supplying other galleries throughout Canada. They decided to branch out and contacted local artists to showcase in the gallery. Sunset Art Gallery now features the works of 15 different artist from Cape Breton. 

Three years ago a gallery gift shop was added specializing strictly in local crafts. Everything in the gallery and gift shop is handmade and comes mainly from Cape Breton or mainland Nova Scotia. 

A Bakery is also operated on site specializing in fresh breads, pastries and coffee. The "Boulangerie De L'Est" is the only fresh bakery of its kind in the area.  

Over the years they have become well known for their unique work and many "one of a kinds". They have been visited by many delegates and stars, including the Governor General of Canada who once came for a private visit!
